DUNWOODY TOUR OF HOMES - October 4, 2011...This was one of 5 homes selected to be on the annual Dunwoody Tour of Homes for 2011. It was so well received there has been mention of an article in Southern Living magazine. The exterior and interior is so beautiful and such magazine quality, I'm not surprised. Kudos to not only our design team but to the Owner who has impeccable taste. More pictures to come.
This home as you will note has the flavor of a Ralph Lauren style home. We designed the home and were also construction managers acting as Client's agent. When the builder faltered and the workmanship became too poor, we were called in to help the Client complete and correct the work. Working closely with a very talented Client with excellent taste, we accomplished the restructuring and completion of the home. It is truly a magnificent open floor plan with a kiss of nature on the exterior that makes it a showplace of which to be proud.

CASCADE HEIGHTS
The original home was a 1960's contemporary as the pictures reveal. The Client who was expecting an addition of twins to his family of 4 decided to renovate and expand. The 5,000 sf addition is a Frank Lloyd Wright style with an open, flowing and functional interior. The use of stone, wood, and glass help it to blend into the natural setting around it. The addition of a protected rear area with a natural pool makes it perfect setting for the new family.

LAVISTA ROAD with INDOOR POOL
This was a typical early 1970's ranch style home with a gable roof that extended left to right. This young couple wanted to live in the area, but knew they would have to make drastic changes to any home there to make it their dream home. The 3,000 sf addition to the rear of the home and the spectacular new heavy timber front elevation makes this a showcase. The Client acting as their own General Contractor did a magnificent job on their choices and details. It outshines yet blends with the neighborhood...now they must renovate them all...(smile).

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - Peachtree Battle area
This home was flooded in September, 2009 by Peachtree Creek. We had been retained earlier to do a "Discovery Report" to determine what the options were for a renovation. We delivered the report and it was determined that the Client would continue without raising the structure. After 3 weeks into construction, the flood came.....the worst the creek had ever had....and it was flooded. After exhaustive research and thought, it was determined that the structure be raised 5 feet, but without destroying the existing charm of the home. We think we have done this and absolutely made it more charming than ever.

COVINGTON, GEORGIA
This home sits on a hilltop on six acres overlooking beautiful farmland, pastures and woods. The Client is a young businessman who intends to start his family here and work from home when he isn't traveling. It's a beautiful formal French with a gorgeous open and liveable interior that captures the charm of the land.

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY
This 7,000 sf home is magnificent built on top of a hill surrounded by fenced pastures and horses with a view of nine counties. The Owner wanted something that would blend with the land and capture from every room the view...we think we accomplished that dream. The rear main level has overlooking the pool and deck areas an angled veranda that is separated from the inside by folding doors that retract and stack to combine the open-air area with the inside. The veranda has in it's columns concealed built-in remote controlled screens that can be lowered as needed and the inside becomes the protected outside at will. It seems to wrap itself around an infinity edge pool which gives the illusion that it flows into the pastures beyond. With rustic heavy timbers, stone, and lots of glass...this home is a masterpiece. It will later be featured in Log Homes Magazine.
